Sloppy Joe

consists of a soft bun, usually without sesame seeds, cut in half and generously filled with stewed minced meat (mostly beef) in a sweet and spicy tomato sauce. Onions, garlic, paprika, and sometimes ketchup or mustard are often added to it. The filling is so juicy that it often leaks out of the bun – hence the name.

Ingredients:
-400 grams ground beef
-3 tbsp vegetable oil
-1 onion, finely chopped
-2 celery stalks, finely chopped
-2 cloves garlic, squeezed
-1 carrot, coarsely grated
-70 grams tomato paste
-200 grams tomato in its own juice, coarsely chopped
-2 tbsp. l apple cider vinegar
-Salt and ground black pepper
-1/2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
-1 tsp ground cumin (cumin)
-100 grams Cheddar cheese, grate on a coarse grater
-6 Burger buns

Preparation:

Cooking time: 30 minutes
1) Heat the vegetable oil in a deep skillet. Add onion, garlic and celery. Stir until the onions are soft.

2) Add the meat and fry, stirring, until the meat turns white.

3) Put the carrots to the meat and fry until the carrots are soft.

4) Add the tomato paste and tomatoes, season generously with salt and fry, stirring occasionally, until the juices evaporate.

5) Add Worcestershire sauce, sugar, vinegar and cumin. Mix well, fry together for about a minute and remove from the heat.

6) Put minced meat on each bun. Sprinkle generously with grated cheese and cover with the other half of the bun.

And that’s it, your burger is ready to serve while the bun is crispy and the meat filling is hot.
